On the Sinamale' Bridge

I took these photos on the Sinamale' Bridge where below the Chinese mechanics, tinkerers, welders, and crane drivers were clearing the steel dump yard...For two years from 2016 to 2018, the Chinese engineers has built the most expensive and the largest construction project ever undertaken in the Maldives...It's previously called China-Maldives Friendship Bridge and now known officially as Sinamale' Bridge connecting the main city capital island of Male' to Hulhule where Velana Internationa Airport is located and to Hulhumale' which is the reclaimed island in the lagoon and reefs of Hulhule'.

Bridge surroundings

After having tea and short eats in Cafe' Talent and buying cigarettes from Hanhiya shop, I went to the back side of Dharubaaruge and took these photos of the surrounding side of Sinamale' Bridge...Starting from Ameenee Magu and inside the back of Dharubaaruge which is now a waste area full of unused bricks and stones, I took the photos in Boduthakurfaanu Magu and ended at the west end of Dharubaaruge...This side of Boduthakurufaanu Magu is now rebuilt with tar...It's like a full highway...The whole place has changed completely...

One of my favorite places in Male' for the lonely walks at night and early evenings since 1997, the whole place has changed...
